    Work Experience: 

    I have taught Mathematics and Physics for almost twenty years, first in Singapore and thereafter in several international schools of high repute in Shanghai, Ningbo and Hong Kong. Besides classroom teaching, I have had the privilege of piloting major programmes in most of these institutions, including steering the authorisation process for both IBMYP and IBDP. I have served in various capacities, including Senior Subject Teacher, Head of Department, Head of Middle School, Singapore MOE Manpower Planning Officer, IBMYP coordinator, IBDP coordinator, Consultant to Senior Management, IB examiner and member of IBO School Visits team. I believe in embracing challenge and change, and am very delighted to accept the invitation by the Senior Management of SIPFLS to come on board to launch the IB programme. I believe this will be a most enriching and fulfilling experience for all of us on the IB team, and look forward to working with everyone in SIPFLS.

    Work Experience:

    At the start of my teaching career, I taught high school in Singapore and later made a transition to tertiary–level teaching.  Before joining SIPFLS, I taught withthe National University of Singapore, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Hong Kong University and University of Nottingham Ningbo China, delivering English courses to Foundation year candidates, undergraduates and postgraduates. During my time with these institutions, I had the privilege of being on several select committees for major University-wide curriculum renewal projects, and thus am excited by the invitation to help launch the IBDP for this school,and placeSIPFLS on the IBO map as the first foreign language school in Suzhou to attain IB World School status. As part of middle management, I  line-managed and trained English teachers hailing from the UK, Europe, Australia and the US. I also conducted workshops for in-service teachers, Masters of Education candidates, and university administrative staff. A firm believer in a highly- trained workforce, I am exhilarated by the dual prospect of teaching on this programme, as well ascustomizing atraining programme for both our foreign and local teachers.

    Work Experience:

    For 2 Years I worked at Dole Analytical Laboratories in Turlock, CA, where I plated for various bacteria and pathogens. Here I gained general manufacturing practice and general laboratory practice among many other standard operational procedures. Thereafter, for 3 Years at the University of Merced, CA, I worked as a researcher taught chemistry laboratory for freshmen in college.

    After arriving in China, for 5 Years I taught at Suzhou Foreign Language School (SLFS) in Suzhou delivering IGCSE, A-Levels, and AP Chemistry curriculum. Here I gained a lot of experience working with high level students and other foreign teachers. Just before joining SIPFLS, for 2 Years I taught at Ambright Education Group in Hefei No.1 High School in Hefei, delivering SAT, ACT, and AP Chemistry curriculum. Here I was given the opportunity to be lab coordinator and learned a lot about the chemical preparation for the high school laboratory.

    Work Experience:

    I had up to around 8-9 years of full-time teaching experience in international schools in Malaysia and China. I’ve experience inteaching CAIE IGCSE levels, CAIE AS and A Levels, IBDP, AUSMAT, MUFY and SAM curriculum. I am currently teaching IBDP Biology (SL and HL) which are my 3rd and 4th batch of IB students. I have also supervised more than 3 batches of students with their Internal Assessment and Extended Essays. For In the past 2 years before joining SIPFLS, I’ve worked as the Head of Biology to look after the quality of curriculum for Biology including Scheme of Work, teaching pedagogies and professional development. I believe my experience could improve students’ learning experiences in the future.

    Work Experience:

    I started teaching in 2008 as a relief teacher in a primary school. That experience reaffirmed my decision to enter teaching full time and I underwent full time training in 2009, sponsored by Singapore’s Ministry of Education. Over the next eleven years, I taught students with varying ability levels in a Singapore secondary school. I planned curriculum roadmaps, designed coursebooks and monitored academic performance for the entire level. In addition, as part of my portfolio, I ran leadership training workshops for students and helped organize major school events like Student Council Investiture. I conducted teacher training as well. Looking for a new challenge, I joined SIPFLS in August 2020 where my roles include teaching both IB and IA classes as well as to be the school’s Examination Coordinator. Lastly, I am excited to be tasked to start the new Integrated Middle School programme next year for Year 7 students. I look forward to building the students’ desire to learn.

    Work Experience:

    I have lived and taught in China for 8 years in total, teaching mostly middle and high school ESL.  I am passionate about teaching my students how to communicate in the English language, regardless of the level of English they speak.  I believe every student has the ability to improve, and as a teacher, I try my best to encourage and build students’ confidence.

    Over the past 6 years of teaching, I have developed several sets of curriculum and countless resources to keep my students’ classroom experiences diverse and challenging.  With a strong background in academic writing, I have focused closely on building tools that will allow students to become clear and articulate communicators.

    I am a strong supporter of CAS and extracurricular programs my students take.  I believe that it is not enough just to teach our students language and sciences; they must also learn how to be kind and contributing members of society.

I am also tasked to develop students’ learning skills by fostering different approaches to learning.

    I graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2006 whereupon I joined the National Institute of Education (Nanyang Technological University) to train as a teacher. I taught secondary school English Language and Literature for 14 years and am familiar with the Cambridge O and A Level curriculum. From 2014 to 2016, I also had the opportunity to develop a drama-in-curriculum programme preparing students for Trinity College Speech and Drama accreditation. I then joined SIPFLS in 2020 and my duties include teaching English B, Theory of Knowledge and coordinating the IB Extended Essay. I look forward to interacting with my students and helping them to discover the joy of lifelong learning.

    Work Experience:

    My career in education began eight years ago and has included time in the UK, Austria and China, working with students from a range of backgrounds and with different national and international curricula. For six years I’ve worked in China and have focused on international education. Previously I worked as head of English in an Australian international school, where I designed and ran the core literature and language course for the students and ran training workshops for teachers new to the curriculum and subject. I’ve brought this experience to SIPFLS where my duties range from teaching on the IB course to leading the middle school English programme for Year 9 students. Next year we’ll be expanding what we’ve started with Year 9 and I’m excited to be able to offer my experience to help take students from Year 7 right through to Year 12, building skills for success all the way.
