We are very proud to have attained the status of an IB World School within 13 months. To the staff of the IB Division, this is a much-awaited culmination to the months of rigorous preparation. Our team of highly qualified and experienced teachers are all set to deliver the IBDP courses while integrating the DP core subjects within the curriculum. The following is the testimony from the IBO visiting members after the period of verification.
The IBO visiting members were highly meticulous and thorough during their three-day verification visit. They are very impressed with the school’s facilities and resources, as these are considered key factors for the success of an IBDP Programme. Our facilities have far exceeded the official requirements. The science laboratories have met all safety measures and the library is easily accessible to all students from 7 am - 9 pm for at least 5 days a week. They spoke highly of the highly qualified teachers and commended the DP Coordinator for having a thorough understanding of the Programme. Parents were very supportive of the Programme and gave positive feedback on their children’s development since joining the bridging programme. The IBO visiting members commended our Year 10 bridging programme for preparing our students well in both skills and language ability. They are particularly impressed with the students’ level of English proficiency and the extent of their development of the IB Learner Profile attributes.
The International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) was founded in 1968. The Diploma Programme (DP) aims to develop a holistic curriculum that will prepare students for higher education. It is a two-year rigorous pre-university course of study designed for students in the age of 16-19.
This course aims to encourage students to be knowledgeable and inquiring, but also caring and compassionate. There is a strong emphasis on encouraging students to develop intercultural understanding, open-mindedness, and the attitudes.
IB learners strive to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective.
The DP Curriculum model comprises six academic areas enclosing a central core (see figure above). Subjects are studied concurrently and students are required to study a broad range of subjects representing all the major disciplines.
Students are required to study:
6 subjects (3 at higher level and 3 at standard level)
3 core courses: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS)
The six subjects include two languages (group 1 & 2), one subject from individuals and societies (group 3), one experimental science (group 4), one mathematics subject (group 5), and one subject from the arts (group 6) or another subject from groups 1 to 5 instead of a group6 subject.

About second batch enrolment
Our school plans to enrol two classes of 25 students each.
Year 10 Bridging Program
The school will have one-year preparatory course in Year 10. All classes are taught in English except for Chinese lessons. The main focus of this course is to prepare students to be able to learn in English and the basic concepts in any of these 6 subjects: Chinese, English, Economics, ICT, Physics, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Maths, Visual Arts and Music. In addition, we will emplace comprehensive-ability courses to develop students’ critical thinking and social ability which is the Essential Studies,Project Work and Pre-CAS.
The preparatory course aims at helping students to build a good foundation in language, academic thinking, and be prepared for the two-year course in DP. We have no restriction to non-native English speakers to read English as the first language. In our first batch of students, there will be 5 mainland Chinese students studying English as Language A in DP after going through our intensive English preparation programme.
The criteria for our enrolment into the DP course are based on students’ daily performance, the results from senior high school entrance examination and our admission tests and interview.
IB Teaching Staff
The school continues adding highly qualified teachers to the current team of teachers who are richly experienced in their subject areas. Most of them have taught IBDP for several years and held important roles in their previous institutes. They also serve as IB examiners in a number of subjects. The professional team also includes the local Chinese teachers who are fluent in both English and Chinese languages.
